The Lindenwood men's volleyball team (3-6, 0-2 MIVA) picked up its third sweep of the season after defeating Missouri S&T (4-5), 3-0 on Wednesday night in Rolla, Mo.
MATCH OVERVIEW
Missouri S&T took an early 12-9 lead, but Lindenwood went on a 5-1 run, finished off by a
Connor Sheehan ace to take its first lead at 14-13. The Lions continued their momentum towards the end of the set and grabbed the lead in the match after winning the first, 25-20. A trio of Lindenwood players led the way with four kills apiece while the team hit an outstanding .478.
Lindenwood was the first team to 10 in the second set, holding a 10-7 advantage early. The visitors continued to play well second, leading 17-11 after another ace from Sheehan. The Lions took their largest lead at 23-15 after a stuff from
RaShawn Bonner. S&T won the next four points, but Lindenwood finished off the set again at 25-20.
A.J. Lewis paced the squad with four kills in the stanza.
After the score was tied 8-8 to begin the third, Lindenwood went on a 3-0 run to grab an 11-8 lead. The black and gold maintained a slight edge throughout the set and led 20-17 after a block from Sheehan and
Aidan Curcuru. Lindenwood was able to finish off the set and the match at 25-22.
