Several Lindenwood University swimming and diving athletes competed in the 2024 National Invitation Championships held at the Florida Aquatics Swimming & Training Center in Ocala, Florida, March 14-16.
In the women's 50-yard backstroke, Stephanie Marks recorded a time of 26.04, while Piotr Kowalczyk finished in tenth with a time of 22.42 in the men's competition. Adam Szczerba competed in the men's 500-yard freestyle, concluded the race in 4:30.89. In the men's 50-yard butterfly, Elliott Irwin finished in 21.98.
Lyssa Wood completed the women's 200-yard IM in 2:05.27 and Patryk Winiatowski wrapped up the men's competition in 1:51.42. For the women's 50-yard breaststroke, Maja Piotrowicz recorded a time of 29.26. For the men's 50-yard breaststroke competition, two Lions recorded top ten finishes. Johan Cue Carrillo took fourth in 24.50 and Mattia Giurgevich finished in eighth with a time of 24.74. Polat Tasbasi also competed in the 50-yard breaststroke competition, coming in with a time of 25.44.
In the men's 50-yard freestyle, Kowalczyk claimed fourth place in 20.15, while Trevor Danner, Irwin, and Ondrej Dusa recorded time of 20.75, 20.76 and 20.94, respectively. Marks, Piotrowicz, Wood and Kornelia Buszka finished the women's 400-yard medley relay in 3:47.92. On the men's side, Kowalczyk, Giurgevich, Winatowski and Dusa claimed eighth place in 3:14.10.
The Lindenwood women finished with 94.5 points, while the men tallied 247.
