The Lindenwood baseball team dropped a midweek game with Southern Illinois University (19-10) by a score of 8-2 on Tuesday night in Carbondale, Ill.
GAME OVERVIEW
The Salukis jumped on the Lions early with five runs in the first to take a 5-0 lead after an inning of play. After SIUE added one more in the second, Lindenwood got on the board in the fourth as
James Jett smacked a one-out double and
Filip Sarota drove him in with an RBI single, his sixth RBI of the season.
SIU extended its lead with two more runs in the fifth, but Lindenwood responded with one in the sixth as
Bryson Arnette smacked his third round tripper of the year to make the score 8-2 in favor of the Salukis. The Lions were unable to get much going offensively in the later innings, falling by that 8-2 score.
Bennett Stice and
Daniel Darin combined for four innings of shoutout baseball out of the pen, while the duo combined for six strikeouts. The Lions finished the night with two runs on six hits, while Arnette and Sarota had the RBI's
