MACON, GA. – On Saturday, men's lacrosse took on Mercer in their final game as a program. In a tight game, Lindenwood would fall 13-11 to the Mercer Bears.
GAME OVERVIEW
In the first quarter, Lindenwood would start the game off scoring the first two goals, coming from
Noah Wehrman and
Jack Huntington. At 8:52, Mercer would get on the board, cutting the Lions lead in half. Mercer would score the next four goals, leading 5-2, after one quarter of play.
In the second quarter, Wehrman would score, stopping the Bears scoring streak at 12:51. The Bears would score the next two goals, extending their lead to four.
Ace Nichols would score the final goal in the half for the Lions, with Lindenwood trailing Mercer 7-4.
In the third quarter, Lindenwood would start the frame by scoring three straight goals, coming from
Connor Engel, Wehrman, and
John Dahl. Mercer would find their first goal of the third quarter, with 27 seconds left, with the Bears leading 8-7 going into the final frame.
In the fourth quarter, Mercer would score five straight, extending their lead to six. Lindenwood would not shy away. The Lions would finish off the frame scoring four straight, cutting the Bears lead to two. Goal scorers for the Lions in the fourth quarter included
Flint Thielen, Nichols,
Danny Carolan, and
Patrick Lanigan.
After this matchup, Lindenwood falls to 0-12 on the season.
