The Lindenwood baseball team (14-31, 7-12 OVC) dropped the first game of its series with SEMO (23-23, 11-8 OVC) by a score of 13-3 on Friday afternoon from Lou Brock Sports Complex
GAME OVERVIEW
SEMO led off the game with a home run to take an early 1-0 lead. The Redhawks scored once in each of the second and third innings, extending their lead to 3-0. Lindenwood answered with a run in the bottom of the third after back-to-back doubles from
Chase Honeycutt and
Ambrose Russo plated Lindenwood's first run, cutting the deficit to 3-1.
The Redhawks added four more runs in the fifth and seventh innings to extend their lead to 11-1. SEMO kept the scoring going in the eighth with two more. Lindenwood plated two in the eighth after a pair of hits from Russo and
Evan Funkhouser began the inning,
Colin Shea drove in Funkhouser with an RBI groundout. One batter later,
Kam Edwards doubled home Funkhouser, making the score 13-3. Lindenwood was unable to draw closer, falling by that score.
