PEORIA, Ill. -Â
Lindenwood softball (25-25, 13-14 OVC) wrapped up their 2024 season with a 7-3 loss against #7 Tennessee Tech (23-22, 12-13 OVC) at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships hosted in Peoria, Ill.
In her final game in a
Lindenwood uniform,
Amanda Weyh (L, 15-9) started the game while throwing four innings allowing five runs on seven hits with four strikeouts. She held the Golden Eagles to four straight scoreless innings before the fifth.
At the plate,
Lindenwood produced six hits scoring three runs.
Mya Bethany continued her hot hitting to end the season (four-game hitting streak) with a 2-4 performance with two RBI.
Chloe Honchar also added an RBI single in her final game for
Lindenwood.

Weyh started the morning off hot with two strikeouts in the top of the first inning. LU also had a chance to strike in the bottom half of the inning with two runners on, but winning pitcher Payton Wagner (W, 9-4) got out of the jam.

After another stellar inning from Weyh in the second, Lindenwood scored their first run of the ball game with a groundout by Bethany to bring home
Morgan Gersch. Honchar grounded out to end the second with two runners in scoring position.

Lindenwood's defense helped Weyh get out of two jams in the third and fourth inning. TTU had the bases loaded in the third but Weyh got a strikeout to get out of it. Lindenwood then recorded back-to-back outs in the fourth with runners and second and third to keep the game scoreless.

Tennessee Tech took control of the game in the fifth inning after six runs came across. Weyh allowed three straight singles to start the inning before walking in the first run. After a RBI single to put the Golden Eagles up 2-1,
Avery Wapp replaced Weyh on the mound. TTU scored another four runs off of Wapp to increase their lead to 6-1. They also scored a run in the top of the sixth

Lindenwood's offense struggled up until the seventh inning where they scored their final two runs of the ball game. Gersch and
Dallis Darnell both singled to start the seventh inning. Bethany and Honchar then hit two straight RBI singles to cut into the lead. With the bases loaded, TTU's closer Emily York struck out
Ashley Gerber to end the game and knock out the Lions.

TTU scored seven runs on 12 hits while committing two errors. Lindenwood scored three runs on six hits with no errors while leading eight runners on base.
