Women’s Ice Hockey Falls 6-2 In Game Two Versus #11 St. Cloud State

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO. – On Sunday, the Lindenwood women's ice hockey team took on St. Cloud State for the second time this weekend. The Lions would fall 6-2 to the Huskies.

GAME OVERVIEW
In the first period, the Huskies would find paydirt first, scoring with 11:45 to go in the period. After one period of play, the Huskies would lead 1-0. St. Cloud would outshoot the Lions in the period 7-6.

In the second period, the Lions would strike first, scoring their first goal of the year just 1:43 into the frame. The Lions first goal would be attributed to Molly Henderson, assisted by Olivia Grabianowski and Silje Gundersen. Gundersen's assist would be her first career point as a Lion. St. Cloud State would score the next three goals with the final goal coming at 17:44 into the frame. After two periods of play, Lindenwood would trail the Huskies 4-1. The Huskies would outshoot the Lions 13-6 in the frame.

In the third period, Lindenwood would break St. Cloud's scoring streak at 08:17, cutting the Huskies lead to two. Thea Jørgensen would be attributed the goal, assisted by Sydney Rarick and Maegan Cronan. Cronan's assist would also be her first career point as a Lion. The Huskies would move on and score the final two goals of the frame, extending their lead to four. The Huskies would outshoot the Lions 15-10 in the final period of play.

After the game, Lindenwood falls to 0-2 on the year. Anna LaRose got the start in net, making 16 stops. Madison Bowtell would relieve LaRose in the third period, making 13 saves in 20 minutes.
