Women’s Soccer Ties Eastern Illinois 0-0

CHARLESTON, ILL. – On Thursday, women soccer took on the Panthers of Eastern Illinois in Lindenwood's second OVC match of the season. The match between the Lions and the Panthers would end in a 0-0 tie.

MATCH OVERVIEW
In the first half, Lindenwood controlled total possession with 55%. The Lions spent majority of their possession (84%), in their attacking half. After a 45 minutes of play, Lindenwood would be tied with EIU 0-0. Lindenwood would outshoot EIU 8-5 in the frame, with three shots coming on net. Mackenzie Compton would lead Lindenwood in the half in shots on net with two, with Lily Sutter contributing the final shot on net in the frame for the Lions. Jordan Hollingsworth would make one save in the frame. The Lions would have the 4-0 advantage in corner kicks in the first frame.

In the second half, both teams would be held off the scoring column, with the match ending in a 0-0 draw. The Lions would have a scoring opportunity in the latter seconds of the match but would be saved by the Panthers goalkeeper. The Lions would outshoot the Panthers 8-3 in the frame but could not find the back of the net. The Lions would have four shots on net in the frame coming from Anna Johnson, Ava Blum, and Compton, and Georgia Pardalos. The Lions had the 2-0 advantage in the second half in corner kicks.

After the match, Lindenwood moves to 5-4-1 overall and 1-0-1 in OVC play. Hollingsworth got the start in net, making three saves.
