The Lindenwood men's volleyball team (1-3), fell in four sets to No. 15 CSUN (5-0) on Saturday night in Northridge, Calif.
MATCH OVERVIEW
CSUN got off to a fast start and took a 10-4 lead, which forced a Lindenwood timeout. The Matadors continued to extend the lead to as many as eight at 18-10. CSUN ran away with the first set at 25-14.
Aidan Curcuru led the Lions with three kills in the opening stanza.
Lindenwood held an early 12-8 advantage in the second set. A big block from
Zach Solomon and
Owen Walsh pushed the Lindenwood lead to five and CSUN took a timeout, The Black and Gold maintained a comfortable advantage throughout the set and a kill from
Carter Stenmark pushed the Lindenwood lead to 20-16. CSUN fought back to get within one at 24-23, but Stenmark finished off the set to tie it at 1-1. Overall, Lindenwood hit .405 in the frame.
The Matadors jumped out to a 9-3 lead in set three. The Lions answered with a 7-1 run to get back within one at 11-10 after a triple block. CSUN regained a comfortable advantage after the run, going up 19-14 late in the set. The Matadors finished off the set at 25-20 and took a 2-1 lead into the fourth.
CSUN won the race to 10 in the fourth set, holding a 10-7 lead. The home team maintained a comfortable advantage, going up 20-14, which forced a Lindenwood timeout. The Matadors closed out the match, 25-19, winning 3-1.
