ST. CHARLES, Mo. - Lindenwood men's basketball (9-12, 4-6 OVC) suffered a 78-46 loss at home to the Little Rock Trojans (13-7, 7-2 OVC) on Saturday afternoon. This marked only the second home loss of the season for the Lions and drop to 8-2 in Hyland.
Jordan Wildy off the bench for Lindenwood was the lone double-figure scorer after posting 10 points on 4-5 shooting. Wildy also grabbed three rebounds in the loss.
Aly Tounkara was LU's leading rebounder with six boards including three on the offensive glass. Little Rock out-rebounded the Lions 43-30 on Saturday, but Lindenwood did have 12 offensive rebounds compared to 10 by LR.
Clayton Jackson made the most of his 22 minutes against the Trojans with nine-points including three triples.
Markeith Browning II and
Jadis Jones also both had eight points and four rebounds. Browning II led the team in assists with five as LU assisted on 12 of their 17 made field-goals.
Lindenwood was held to their lowest field-goal percentage of the season after going 17-62 (27.4%)Â against the Trojans. During the second half, Lindenwood made only five shots while being held to 17 total second half points.
The Lions off the bench provided a spark scoring 23 points including a combined 19 from Wildy and Jackson. Little Rock was held to just 13 bench points. The Trojans were able to out-score Lindenwood in the painted area 34-26.
Lindenwood hung around early finding themselves down just two points with 7:41 remaining in the first half by a score of 23-21. Both teams were shooting 42.9% from the field at that time and both were shooting under 20.0% from three.
Heading into the locker room, Lindenwood trailed 42-29 after a late-run by the Trojans. The Lions shot 41.4% from the field in the first 20 minutes of play but were 2-12 from three. Wildy scored all 10 of his points in the first half while Jones added six. After starting off slow, Little Rock went 3-4 from long range to end the half.
It was all Trojans in the final 20 minutes out-scoring the Lions 36-17 in the second half. Lindenwood's offense shot only 5-33 from the field including 2-11 from three point range. Little Rock opened up their largest lead of 36 late in the half as they shot 52.2% through the final 20 minutes of the game.
