The Lions were swept in a two-game series versus Minnesota State, Mankato. In game one, the Lions went down early and would end up falling 8-1. In game two, the Lions were down 1-0 after a period of play. In the second period, the Lions would tie the game up at 1-1 at the 15:24 mark in the frame. The tie would be short-lived with Minnesota State scoring a goal a minute later to regain the one-goal lead. The Mavericks would score two goals in the third period, to secure the 4-1 victory over the Lions.
