Lindenwood Men's Soccer got back in the win column on Thursday night with a 2-0 win over Incarnate Word.
Ethan Blake scored a goal late in the first half to give the Lions a 1-0 lead at the break and
Alander Soares added a second Lions goal midway through the second half to put the Lions on top 2-0. The win on Thursday put Lindenwood's season win total to 11, which ties their win total from 2024 with four games remaining in the 2025 regular season.
The matchup with Houston Christian will be the second top three matchup in the OVC in a span of three games for the Lions, after already playing Liberty on the road last Sunday. Lindenwood will look to keep their home unbeaten streak alive on Sunday as they currently are 7-0-1 at Hunter Stadium in 2025.
Scouting Houston Christian
The Huskies have eight wins on the 2025 season, including three coming in conference play. All three of their wins have come in the last four games as they have beaten Liberty on the road and Eastern and Western Illinois at home. Houston Christian is led by Junior Forward Ryan Okerayi, who has 15 points on the season including seven goals, which leads the OVC. Okerayi scored two of his goals in the Huskie's 3-0 win over the Panthers on October 9 and his 33 shots ranks second in the OVC.
As a team, Houston Christian ranks second in the OVC in goals allowed with 10, sitting just behind Lindenwood who has allowed only five goals on the 2025 season. The matchup between these two squads will be a close contest as two of the three previous meetings have resulted in a tie. The lone victory in the all-time series went to the Huskies in 2024 as they defeated the Lions in the semifinals of the OVC Conference Tournament in Edwardsville by a score of 2-0.
