BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Lindenwood men's hockey team (5-5-0) completed their second road sweep of the season with a 3-2 win at Ferris State (1-7-0, 0-2-0 CCHA) on Saturday night. The Lions were opportunistic in transition, scoring a pair of breakaway goals in the second period to make the difference.

Lindenwood opened the scoring on the power play nine minutes into the first period, as
Charles Savoie centered a pass to
Drew Kuzma who deflected the puck on to an open
Louis-Philippe Fontaine at the back post, with Fontaine touching twine for his fourth power play goal of the season.
After the Lions carried the 1-0 lead into the first intermission, Ferris State found their first score of the weekend with a power play goal of their own by Max Itagaki nearly six minutes into the second period.
The Lions would go back in front seven minutes later, with
Jacob Fletcher connecting with an open
Anselmo Rego, who got behind the Ferris State defense before beating the goalkeeper with a fantastic drag move in front of the net for the first goal of his NCAA career.
LU would tack on one more at the 17:27 mark as a blocked shot by
Tyler Loughman found the stick of
Charles Savoie, who was left all alone with the FSU keeper before burying a shot in the lower left corner.
The Lions opened the third period on the power play, but surrendered a short-handed goal to FSU's Riley Wallack, which cut the lead to just one with still over 19 minutes remaining. However, despite leading and playing even or shorthanded for the entire period, the Lions outshot the Bulldogs 10-7 and held on for the 3-2 win.
The Lions outshot Ferris State 33-26 on the night, with
Liam Beerman collecting 24 saves.
Charles Savoie brought his season point total to a team-high 11(3 goals – 8 assists) as he recorded his fifth multi-point performance of the season.
The win moves Lindenwood's record to 4-0 on the road this season.
