The Lindenwood women's basketball team (2-1) continues its short homestand with a matchup against Kansas City (1-2) on Monday. Tip-off from Hyland Arena is set for 6:00 p.m.

The Lions are coming off a 76-65 win over Oral Roberts last Thursday to improve to 2-0 at home on the young season. Dating back to last season, the Black & Gold have won 12 consecutive games inside Hyland Arena.

Lindenwood was led offensively by
Ellie Brueggemann who scored a game-high 18 points on 7-15 shooting, including 3-7 from three-point range. The Owasso, Okla. native has scored 18 or more points in all three games this season. She also dished out a career-high seven assists and had four rebounds.

Gracie Kelsey and
Aleshia Jones were the other Lindenwood players in double figures on Thursday as Kelsey chipped in 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds in just 23 minutes. The Agency, Mo. native now has scored 10 or more points in six straight games dating back to last season.

Lindenwood has controlled the glass in both wins, outrebounding teams by a combined margin of 36. So far this season, the Lions have a +9.7 advantage on the glass, which ranks second in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Jones had 12 consecutive Lindenwood points in the fourth quarter to grow the lead to 21 before Oral Roberts scored the final 10 points to cut the deficit to 11. The Saginaw Valley State transfer has provided a spark off the bench, averaging 17.5 points per game in two appearances off the bench while scoring just four points in her only start of the year at Baylor.

Last season, Lindenwood defeated Kansas City, 67-62 on the road. four players scored in double figures during the win, led by
Gracy Wernli who had 16.
Brooke Coffey finished with 11, while
Alyssa Nielsen had 10.
