ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Lindenwood women's volleyball team (11-16, 7-11 OVC) ended the regular season on a high note with a 3-2 win over Little Rock (16-14, 11-7 OVC) at Hyland Arena on Wednesday evening. The victory snapped a five-game skid for the Lions and improved their home record to 5-4 this season.
Match Overview
Lindenwood pounced out to a 9-4 lead in the opening set behind an early 5-0 run before expanding their lead to as many as seven points on the way to a 25-21 win. The Lions came out hot, hitting .424 as a team in the set.
Little Rock responded in the second frame to build an early seven-point lead, which they were able to hang on to despite six unanswered points from LU that cut the deficit to just one. The Trojans outscored the Lions 11-6 through the remainder of the set to take a 25-19 victory. The following set was tied up at 20 apiece, but Little Rock rattled off five consecutive points to grab a 2-1 lead in the match.
With their backs against the wall, Lindenwood answered the call with a dominant 25-15 win in the fourth set.
Autumn Bax dove the LU attack in the frame, posting six kills on a .556 hitting percentage.
In the deciding fifth set, Lindenwood ended the match on a 6-3 run to claim a 15-12 victory, which secured the 3-2 win for the Lions.
Emma Johnson came up big in the set, recording five kills on a blistering .833 hitting percentage

Autumn Bax ended the match with a team-high 18 kills on a .311 attack percentage. She was followed by
Ashley Geluck with 16 kills on an even better .333 percentage. Geluck also posted two service aces and two blocks for 19.5 total points, which matched Bax who added a pair of rejections to her performance.
Kylee Richey and
Emma Johnson just missed out on double-digit kills with nine terminations apiece.
Amelia Thro handed 52 assists on the evening as Lindenwood recorded a team hitting percentage of .265.
LU was strong at the point of attack all night, totaling 12.0 team blocks.
Kylee Richey led the way with a career best six total rejections, while Thro also posted a career-high with four blocks.
On the back row,
Dana Grib put in another solid outing with 20 digs for an average of 4.0 digs per set.
Autumn Bax came just short of a double-double with nine digs, which was tied with
Izzy Herrbold for second most on the team.
The Lions posted a season-high 12 service aces, with Grib and
Alayna Rudebeck leading the way with four apiece.

"I am proud of the team's response after yesterday" said Lindenwood head coach
Will Condon. "They made a decision that today was going to be different and put in the work to prepare and made some quality adjustments." He continued, "It's been a hard couple of weeks. We've seen the ability but have not been able to put it together for three sets. I am proud of the fact that they continued to work and persevere even when we are in our tough moments." Condon concluded his remarks by touching on the squad's experience, stating that "It's a new season and I feel like we have learned a lot about what we are capable of on and off the court. I think we are a dangerous team and we have some experience playing in these types of matches and this environment".Â

Lindenwood now turns their attention to the OVC Tournament, where they will play as the No. 8 seed. The Lions are set to face off with No. 1 seed Eastern Illinois on Sunday, November 23rd at 4:00 p.m. in Charleston, Illinois.
