Women's Volleyball Sweeps OVC Weekly Awards

Four Lindenwood women's volleyball players have earned Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week honors following their performances in the Lions' contests against SIUE and Western Illinois last week.

Ashley Geluck was selected Offensive Player of the Week after posting a total of 52.5 points (4.38 PPS) on 45 kills (3.75 KPS), five service aces, and five blocks. On Tuesday, she posted a season-high 18 kills on a .361 hitting percentage while adding four service aces and a block against SIUE. She totaled 27 kills in the Lions' two wins against Western Illinois, including another 18-kill outing on Friday. She finished the week with an attack percentage of .264 on over 100 attempts.

Dana Grib was tabbed Defensive Player of the Week after stacking up 69 total digs for an average of 5.75 digs per set. After posting 19 digs against SIUE on Tuesday, the junior racked up a career-high 34 digs against Western Illinois on Friday, averaging 8.50 digs per set. It was the second most digs by an OVC player in any match this season, and the most for any player in the four-set match. Grib concluded the week with another double-digit dig outing on Saturday, posting 16 in the LU win.

Amelia Thro was named Setter of the Week after totaling 152 assists for a per set average of 12.75. She set a Lindenwood NCAA-era record with 62 assists against Western Illinois on Friday, averaging 15.5 assists per set. It was the most assists by an OVC player in any match this season. She also added six digs, two service aces, and a kill to the record-setting performance. Thro handed out 42 helpers against SIUE on Tuesday and 49 in the finale against Western. She also collected 25 total digs, including 10 on Saturday for a double-double.

Kylee Richey received Freshman of the Week honors for the third time this season after posting 33 total kills for an average of 2.75 kills per set. She recorded 11 kills in each of the Lions' three contests while also adding 11 total blocks, bringing her week's scoring total to 41.0 points (3.42 PPS).

Lindenwood continues conference play this weekend with a pair of matches at SEMO. Match one is set to get underway at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7th in Cape Girardeau.
