The Lindenwood women's basketball team (0-0, 0-0 OVC) begins the 2025-26 campaign on Wednesday, hosting Harris-Stowe (0-0, 0-0 OVC) for the program's annual Education Day game. Tip-off inside Hyland Arena is set for 11:00 a.m.
Â
The Lions are coming off one of the best seasons in program history, finishing 23-11, including 16-4 inside the Ohio Valley Conference. The Black and Gold made it to the OVC Championship game and earned a bid to the WNIT, winning a pair of games and got to the Super 16. The 23 wins were the most in the programs NCAA era. 14 of those victories came at home, which is also the most in a single season in program history.
Â
Heading into Eagan's third year at the helm, the jump from seven wins in 2023-24 to 23 in 2024-25 was the third largest win percentage increase in NCAA Division I. As a result, Eagan was named the OVC Coach of the Year.
Â
Lindenwood was picked to finish atop the OVC in the preseason poll released last month. The Lions received 179 points and six first-place votes.
Mya Skoff and
Gracy Wernli were selected as players to watch for the upcoming season.
Â
Brooke Coffey and
Ellie Brueggemann return for their junior campaigns. Both were tabbed all-conference honorees last year. Brueggemann led the Lions averaging 12.0 points per game, while Coffey paced the team in rebounds per game with 5.0.
Â
The Lions defeated Harris-Stowe 87-61 last season. Four players finished the game in double-figures. Lindenwood shot 53 percent from the field. Following this game, Lindenwood heads to Waco, Texas for a matchup with Baylor on Sunday. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
