The Lindenwood women's basketball team (7-2) concludes a six-game road trip with a matchup against the No. 11 ranked Iowa Hawkeyes (9-1) on Saturday in Iowa City, Iowa. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m.

Lindenwood will bring a three-game winning streak into Carver-Hawkeye Arena, but it will be the first game in 10 days for the Black and Gold. During their last time out, the Lions knocked off Drake, 68-52 on December 3.
Aleshia Jones led the way offensively with a game-high 20 points, marking her seventh consecutive game in double figures and her third 20 point game of the season overall. The Leavenworth, Kan. native leads the team, averaging 15.9 points per game, which ranks fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference.

The Black and Gold led wire-to-wire against Drake and never trailed in the game. After the Bulldogs cut the lead to six following the third quarter, the Lions outscored Drake 18-8 during the final 10 minutes. So far this season, Lindenwood has a +46-scoring margin in the fourth quarter of games.

Ellie Brueggemann and
Brooke Coffey were the other Lions in double figures. Brueggemann finished with 13 points, while Coffey nearly had her fifth double-double of the season, posting 12 points and nine rebounds. The St. Charles, Mo native is tied for 17th in the country with those four double doubles.

Lindenwood committed a season-low six turnovers in the win against the Bulldogs, while forcing 19 turnovers of its own, which led to 18 points. The Black and Gold are averaging 12.3 turnovers per game on the year, the second lowest total in the conference and have a +5.56 turnover margin this season.

The game against Drake was the third-straight game in which the Lions have held their opponent under 60 points. Lindenwood is 5-0 so far on the season when that happens. So far this year, Lindenwood is giving up just 58.3 points per game, the third best mark in the conference.

Iowa will be the second ranked team that Lindenwood has played this season. The Lions fell 76-63 to then No. 16 Baylor on November 9. Lindenwood outscored the Bears by six in the second half after a slow start.

Lindenwood will return home on Thursday, December 18 in a matchup with Western Illinois to begin Ohio Valley Conference play. Tip-off from Hyland Arena is set for 5:00 p.m.
