The Lindenwood women's basketball team (8-4, 1-1 OVC) begin a three-game homestand with a matchup against the Ottawa University Braves (8-4, 3-4 KCAC) on Monday afternoon in Hyland Arena. Tip-off is set for 3:00 p.m.

The Lions are coming off an impressive 87-55 win over Eastern Illinois during their last time out on Sunday, December 21. Lindenwood never trailed in the game and shot lights out from the field, knocking down a season-high 63 percent of its shots in the victory. This was the fourth such game this season in which the Black and Gold have shot over 50 percent from the field, and they have gone 4-0 on such occasions. So far this season, Lindenwood is shooting 46.6 percent from the floor, tops in the conference.

It was a balanced attack against the Panthers as 13 different players scored, and no player played for more than 26 minutes.
Ellie Brueggemann and
Gracie Kelsey paced the offense with 14 points apiece. Brueggemann finished her day going 6-of-6 from the field, and 2-of-2 from beyond the arc. In her last two games, she has missed just one shot and for the year is making 51 percent of her attempts, and 46 percent of her three-point shots.

The 14 points for Kelsey, which was also a season high. Her and Brueggemann were one of four Lions in double-figures also joined by
Aleshia Jones and
Brooke Coffey who each had 13. For Jones, it was her first time with 10 or more points in the last three games Coffey has now had five-straight contests in double figures.

Lindenwood made 45 percent of its shots from three-point range in the victory, its second highest single-game percentage of the year. The Lions were also clutch from the charity stripe, finishing 91 percent (10-of-11), their best percentage of the season.

So far this season, the Black and Gold rank amongst the OVC's best in multiple offensive categories. Lindenwood averages 74.6 points per game, which is second, has made 37.5 percent of its threes, tops in the league, while shooting 74 percent from the line, also second best in the conference.

This will be the first-ever meeting between the Lions and Braves who are currently 8-4 on the season. The matchup will begin a three-game homestand which will include two conference matchups against Morehead State and Southern Indiana on January 1 and 3, respectively.
