Lindenwood Men's Basketball saw their six game winning streak come to an end as they were defeated by Missouri State on December 23 by a final score of 70-65. Jadis Jones scored a team-high 16 points in the contest, while Dontrez Williams scored 15 points and went 7-12 from the free throw line. Anias Futrell pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds in the loss as well. The Lions trailed by 12 at halftime and trailed by as many as 15 points in the matchup with the Bears, but the Black and Gold battled in the second half and cut the deficit to one. However, Lindenwood was never able to tie the game in the second half despite outscoring Missouri State 43-36 in the final 20 minutes of action. LU will now turn their attention to Morehead State, who is the only other undefeated OVC team besides Lindenwood.

Scouting The Eagles
Morehead State has an overall record of 6-7 and is 2-0 in Ohio Valley Conference play. The Eagles have beaten Little Rock and Southern Indiana so far in conference play, including an OT victory over Southern Indiana by a score of 64-60 on the road. Morehead has two players who are averaging over 12 points per game in Redshirt Junior Guard Davion Cunningham and Senior Guard George Marshall. Cunningham leads the Eagles with 12.3 points per game and is shooting 32.4% from the three point line. He has scored in double figures in eight of his 12 games played so far this season. Meanwhile, Marshall is scoring 12.2 points per game and is knocking down 78.4% of his free throw attempts. Marshall scored a season-high 26 points at Wake Forest in Morehead's second game of the season shooting 8-13 from the floor to lead the Eagles. 

Lindenwood trails the all-time series with Morehead State with a record of 2-4, but the Lions have won the last two matchups. In the most recent matchup between the two teams, Lindenwood defeated Morehead State in the first round of the OVC Tournament by a score of 73-65. Anias Futrell and Jadis Jones each scored in double figures in the contest, with Futrell recording a double-double scoring 15 points and grabbing 13 rebounds while Jones added 10 points.
