The Lions improved to .500 on the season with a 35 point win over Northern Illinois on Tuesday night by a score of 99-64. The 35 point win was the largest margin of victory on the road for Lindenwood in the Division I era as six different players scored in double figures.
Jadis Jones and
Robert Lewis each recorded a double-double in the win, while
Clayton Jackson scored a career-high 21 points off the bench shooting 6-9 from the floor.
Dontrez Williams scored a career-high 20 points as the Sophomore duo of Jackson and Williams combined for 41 points, three steals, and three assists to lead Lindenwood offensively. Sophomore Guard
Jadis Jones recorded his third straight double-double scoring 10 points and tying his career-high in rebounds with 12. Jones is the first Lindenwood Lion since Kennon Cole in 2024 to record a double-double in two or more straight games.
The Lions will now prepare for their Ohio Valley Conference opener on Saturday as they will travel to Eastern Illinois with one road win already under their belt this week.
Scouting The Panthers
EIU enters the contest with the Lions with an overall record of 2-5. The Panthers have defeated Nicholls and Tiffin on their home floor and are undefeated so far this season in Charleston. They have three players who are averaging 10 or more points per game and are led in scoring by Senior Guard Zion Fruster. Fruster has appeared in four of the seven games for the Panthers this season and is scoring 17.3 ppg. Both Fruster and Redshirt Junior Guard Preston Turner are shooting above 40% from three point range.
The Lions are looking for their first road victory at Eastern Illinois as they are currently 0-3 in the all-time series in Charleston.
