Women's Hockey Succumbs At Mercyhurst

ERIE, PA.  – The Lindenwood Women's Hockey team was defeated on Friday evening at Mercyhurst by a score of 10-1. Zsofia Pazmandi scored the lone goal for Lindenwood in the contest in the second period.

In the opening period, the Lakers scored two goals at the 6:24 and 16:35 marks to take a 2-0 lead into the first intermission. After both goals were scored, Lindenwood went to the power play but could only get one shot on goal during both power play opportunities. Hannah Dods and Zsofia Pazmandi each had two shots on goal to lead the Lions in the first period, while Josey Dunne-Weeks added a shot on goal during the Lions second power play of the period as the team finished with seven shots on goal in the first 20 minutes of the contest.

The second period saw Mercyhurst score five goals including three on the power play and one while being short handed. With 14:38 remaining, the Lions cut the Laker lead to three at 4-1 on a goal scored by Zsofia Pazmandi that was assisted by Tatiana Blichova, but Mercyhurst pushed their lead out to 7-1 with one period to go. The Lakers scored three more goals in the third period and took the first game of the series by a score of 10-1. The Lions finished with 17 shots on goal in the contest and were led by Dods and Pazmandi who each had three.

Lindenwood plays again tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. CT for their final game of 2025.
