Men's Hockey Hosts Alaska Fairbanks This Weekend

THIS WEEK
The Lindenwood men's ice hockey team (6-20-2) returns home for the final time this season, taking on the University of Alaska Fairbanks (9-11-6) for a two game series on Friday and Saturday from Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Mo. Senior Day is set for Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT
The Lions battled LIU in a two-game series in East Meadow, N.Y. Lindenwood dropped both game, falling 4-2 in game one, before falling in the second game 3-2
Game One Notes:
•Lindenwood would fall behind early, before scoring two-straight goals from Jake Southgate and John Evans to take a 2-1 lead early in the second period 
•LIU would score three-straight goals to pick up the 4-2 win 
•Lindenwood held the Sharks to just 21 shots on goal 
Game Two Notes:
•Patrick Schmiedlin and Southgate were the goal scorers for Lindenwood. Schmiedlin now has points in two out of the last three games, while Southgate scored in back-to-back games
•The Lions now move to 2-9 in one-goal games

PREVIEW
The Lions will be looking for their second and third wins on home ice this season, with the only victory coming against Stonehill in November. In their last series, Jake Southgate scored a pair of goals, giving him five for the season, which ties him for second on the team. 
Lindenwood and Alaska Fairbanks match up for just the second time in program history and the first at Centene. The Nanooks took both games two seasons ago 
Fairbanks enters the weekend undefeated in its last three and took home the Governors Cup over Anchorage for the 14th-straight season 
Key Players to Watch for the Nanooks
Matt Hubbarde leads the squad in goals with 12, and points with 21. Broten Sabo and Kyle Gaffney each have 12 helpers apiece and are second and third on the team in points. Chase Dafoe us second on the team in goals with nine on the year. Nicholas Grabko has made 18 starts between the pipes and has compiled a .900 save percentage and a 2.75 goals against average. Lassi Lehti has made eight starts with a .926 save percentage and a 2.05 goals against average
