The Lindenwood baseball team (4-5) dropped a midweek contest to the University of Missouri (4-4) by a score of 14-10.
GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood jumped on the Tigers early with a four spot in the first inning.
Kam Edwards led off with a single and the first three Lions reached base. After a pair of walks brought home two runs,
Sam Grunberg singled to bring home two more, making the score 4-0.
Mizzou got two runs back on a home run in the bottom of the second, and added one more in the fourth to make it a 4-3 game. The Tigers kept chipping away and eventually took the lead, 6-4 with three in the fifth. Lindenwood answered right back in the top of the sixth, however. With two outs,
Evan Funkhouser doubled, and after a pair of walks,
Tyler Thompson drove in two, knotting the game at 6 in the sixth. Mizzou retook the lead with one in the bottom half of the inning.
The Tigers extended their lead with a leadoff homer in the seventh and would add four more in the frame to take a 12-6 lead. Lindenwood battled back, however as Edwards doubled home two runs in the eighth. The Lions would push one more across, cutting the deficit to 12-9. Mizzou put two more on the board in the bottom of the inning, making the score 14-9.
Lindenwood loaded the bases in the ninth and got within 14-10 after
Jake Radosevich walked to bring home
Bryson Arnette. That's as close as the Lions would get, falling by that score on Tuesday night.
