EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Lindenwood softball (14-16, 5-6 OVC) took one of two games in Edwardsville, Ill. during an Ohio Valley Conference series against SIUE (18-13, 9-2 OVC) on Friday evening. The Lions were able to pick up the win during game one, 1-0, before falling in game two in five innings by a final score of 9-1.
GAME ONE
Lindenwood - 1
SIUE - 0
Kylee Crowder was the hero for the Lions in game one of the series against the Cougars after hitting her first career home run at Lindenwood in the top of the fifth inning. Crowder's home run was the only run scored in the game for either team as the Lions were able to pick up a 1-0 victory.
Ryleigh Owens (W, 7-6) picked up her seventh win of the season after throwing the first 5.0 innings of the game allowing no runs on four hits with two strikeouts.
Avery Wapp (S, 1) earned her first save of the 2025 season after tossing the final 2.0 innings allowing no hits while adding four strikeouts.
Despite the win, Lindenwood's offense produced just three hits while SIUE had four.
Jolie McMinn continues her hitting streak going 1-3 at the plate.
Tori Hatton also went 1-3 with a double. During the seventh inning with a runner at third, Wapp ended the game with a strikeout giving Lindenwood their third straight win over SIUE in the series history.

Lindenwood - 1
SIUE - 9
SIUE got their revenge in game two of Friday's double header winning 9-1 against the Lions in five innings.
Samantha Roulanaitis (L, 1-5) tossed the first 2.0 innings allowing two runs on two hits with two strikeouts.
Molly Heidrick and
Lucy Pratt both threw 1.0 inning each allowing four and three runs respectively.
Hatton picked up the lone RBI for the Lions after hitting a single in the first inning to score
Nicole Henson. Henson went 2-3 at the plate in game two while Crowder went 1-3 with a double. Lindenwood scored one run on six hits while SIUE scored nine runs on 10 hits.
