TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Lindenwood women's soccer team (3-2-3, 0-0-0 OVC) concluded non-conference play with a 0-0 draw at Indiana State (4-3-3, 0-0-0 MVC) on Sunday afternoon. It was the Lions' fourth shutout performance of the season.
Game Overview
The Lions outshot the Sycamores 11-9 in the first half with two shots on goal, but neither side was able to find the back of the net in the period.
Anna Johnson led Lindenwood with three shots (1 SOG) in the half while
Caroline Ritter posted three saves.
It was Indiana State on the attack in the second half, with the home team taking 11 shots compared to just four from Lindenwood. However, the Lions defense was up to the task and kept the Sycamores off the scoreboard.
Caroline Ritter made five saves in the half, including a pair of fantastic game-saving efforts late in the match. It was her third eight-save performance and fourth clean sheet of the season.
Anna Johnson led the Lindenwood offense with four total shots in the contest with one shot on goal.
Allison Schrumpf added three shots (1 SOG), while
Mackenzie Compton and
Tasneem Dizdarevic both contributed a pair of shots, including two shots on goal for Dizdarevic.
