For the second straight week, a Lindenwood football student-athlete has earned OVC-Big South Association Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Jacob Waller garnered recognition as announced by the conference on Monday.
Waller played a big part in the Lions' 21-point comeback victory over Charleston Southern last Saturday. The Bellevue, Iowa native tallied a career-high 17 tackles in the win over the Buccaneers, including 13 solo stops. That number is also a career-best mark for the redshirt junior linebacker. He also added 1.5 tackles for loss to his stat line. The Lindenwood defense allowed just seven points after the first quarter.
Waller and the rest of the Lions will be back in action on Saturday in the home opener. Lindenwood faces Stony Brook at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale at lndenwoodlions.com/tickets
