ST. CLOUD, MINN. – Lindenwood Women's Hockey fell to St. Cloud State on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 5-0.
Freshman
Zoe Rimstad got the start in net and recorded two saves in the first six minutes of the game, but would allow three goals in the first seven minutes. After the third goal was scored by the Huskies,
Lexington Secreto replaced Rimstad in net and finished the first period with three saves and one goal allowed.
Michaela Paulinyova led the Lions in shots on goal with two as the team recorded seven shots in the first 20 minutes with all seven being on goal.
In the second period, Secreto would come up big for the Lions as she recorded 17 saves and kept the Huskies off the scoreboard. Lindenwood put some pressure on St. Cloud State late in the second period, as they recorded two of their five shots on goal in the final three minutes, but were unable to score. In the final period, St. Cloud State scored a goal six minutes in to take a 5-0 lead that would hold for the remainder of the contest as the Lions would fall to 0-2 on the season. Secreto finished the game with a career-high 34 saves and
Silje Gundersen led the team in shots on goal with five.
The Lions will now return home for the first time in 2025-26 as they will host St. Thomas starting on Friday night. Puck drop is set for 6 p.m.
