The Lindenwood football team is set to hit the road for the fourth time in five games and will take on FBS Miami (OH) this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT at Yager Stadium in Oxford Ohio.
Â
Lindenwood picked up its second-straight win last week after defeating Stony Brook 30-27 in the home opener last week. The Lions raced out to a 27-3 lead at halftime and were able to hang on after a late charge by the Seawolves.
Nate Glantz led the way with three total touchdowns (two passing, one rushing).
Steve Hall had the other score for the Lions in the game.
Â
For his efforts, Glantz was named OVC-Big South Offensive Player of the Week. So far this season, the Elkhorn, Neb. native has completed nearly 61 percent of his passes while tallying 10 total touchdowns (five passing, five rushing). He is the first Lindenwood quarterback since Cade Brister in 2022 with 200 passing and 100 rushing yards in a single game.
Â
His favorite target on the night was
Rico Bond who compile eight catches for 119 yards and two touchdowns on his way to being named the Associations Freshman of the Week for the second time this season. The St. Louis, Mo. native has found the end zone in three consecutive weeks and now leads the OVC-Big South with four touchdown grabs on the year. Bond also paces the conference in receiving yards (301), while ranking second in receptions (23).
Â
Tajay Passmore was a force up front on the defensive side of the ball, finishing the game wit two tackles for loss and two sacks. The first sack forced a fumble which came on the opening drive and that led to the Lions taking a 7-0 lead. It was the first time this season in which the Black and Gold have scored first.
Â
Miami is one of three first time opponents on Lindenwood's schedule this season, including Stony Brook and FBS Appalachian State. The Lions nearly knocked off the Mountaineers in week two. The Black and Gold will return home for three-straight home games following the game on Saturday.
