The Lions are coming off a 35-13 loss to St. Thomas last Thursday. The game was tied at seven at halftime, but the Tommies outscored the Lions 28-6 in the second half to pull away and earn the victory.
Nate Glantz put together a solid performance, completing 62 percent of his passes, going 18-29 for 318 yards and one touchdown.Â
Glantz only had one game last season in which he threw for over 300 yards and that came during the final contest of the 2024 season. One of his favourite targets was
Drew Krobath who had a career night, hauling in five passes for 128 yards. The Fenton, Mo. native had just 232 receiving yards during all of the 2024 season. Krobath and Glantz connected on a few big plays against the Tommies as two of the redshirt sophomore's receptions went for 40+ yards.Â
Another receiver Glantz looked for was
John Anthony, who caught four passes for 90 yards. 45 of those came on one play during a touchdown strike in the third quarter. The redshirt junior had 94 yards receiving during his career before last weeks game. The other offensive touchdown came on the ground via
Jared Rhodes.Â
Defensively,
Eric Gant led the Lions in tackles with nine, including six solo stops. The defensive back was all around the ball, tallying a pair of pass breakups in the contest.
Jacob Waller finished the night with seven tackles, including 2.5 for loss. Waller was one of three Lions with seven tackles on the night.Â
