The Lindenwood women's soccer team hosts Southern Illinois this Sunday at Hunter Stadium for Senior Day. The Lions are 1-0-1 all-time against the Salukis, taking a 2-2 win in Carbondale during the 2022 season before a 1-1 result in their last meeting in 2023. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.

Last Time Out
Lindenwood came away with a 0-0 draw in last Sunday's match against Belmont. The result extended the Lions unbeaten streak at Hunter Stadium to 10 games dating back to last season. Caroline Ritter posted six saves to complete her third shutout performance of the season.

Senior Day
Lindenwood will be honoring four seniors prior to Sunday afternoon's contest, including Ava Blum, Rachel Jackson, Lily Sutter, and Reece Ward.

Ava Blum - A two-year member of the Lindenwood women's soccer team, Ava has started all 26 games as a Lion. She has accumulated a total of 1,878 minutes played with four points, including three so far this season. She scored her first career goal as a Lion on August 28th against Kansas City.

Rachel Jackson - Rachel has started in 60 games over four seasons at Lindenwood. As a freshman, she led the team with four goals, including three game-winners. She started 15 games as a sophomore before starting in all 20 of the Lions' games last season, accumulating 1,555 minutes played. She was named to the 2024 OVC All-Tournament team after helping Lindenwood to its first conference championship of the Division-I era. So far this season Rachel has tallied three points with a goal and an assist.

Lily Sutter - In four years as a Lion, Lily has played in a total of 62 games with 55 starts, accumulating a total of 4,430 minutes played and counting. She has tallied 10 points on two goals and six assists, including a team-leading three assists as a freshman during the 2022 season.

Reece Ward - In two years as a player, Reece appeared in 16 games with 11 starts on the defensive side of the ball. She has spent the last two seasons as a manager.

Notes to Know
SECOND HALF OFFENSE: Six of the Lions' seven goals this season have come in the second half. LU has taken 31 second half shots compared to just 19 in the first half.

PIECE BY PIECE: Four of Lindenwood's seven goals this season have come on set pieces, including two corner kicks and two penalty kicks. The Lions lead the OVC with 35 total corner kicks and an average of 5.83 corners per game. They are also the only team in the conference with more than one PK attempt this season (3).

SPREADING THE WEALTH: Lindenwood's seven total goals have been scored by six different players. Tasneem Dizdarevic is the only Lions with multiple goals this season (2).

LEADERS: Tasneem Dizdarevic leads the team with five points (2g-1a) in five games. She also has a team-high nine shots with a .556 shot-on-goal percentage. Dizdarevic is followed by Anna Johnson, Ava Blum, and Rachel Jackson with three points (1g-1a) each.

DEFENSE: The Lions are allowing an average of less than one goal per game (0.83) so far this season. Caroline Ritter has 32 saves, which is most among OVC goalkeepers.

WINNING THE WHISTLE: The Lions have been called for 40 fouls this season while drawing a total of 72 on their opponents. LU averages 6.67 fouls per game, which is fourth fewest in the OVC.

VERSUS THE VALLEY: SIUE will be the fifth Missouri Valley Conference foe the Lions have faced this season. They are 2-0-2 against MVC opponents with one more remaining on their non-conference schedule following the Salukis (at Indiana State on 9/14).

HOME SWEET HOME: It has been over a full calendar year since the Lions lost a match at Hunter Stadium, posting a record of 6-0-4 in their last nine home games dating back to last season.

Southern Illinois
The Salukis enter Sunday's matchup with a record of 5-1. They are 3-1 against OVC competition this season with wins over EIU (4-0) , SEMO (2-0), and SIUE (3-2), and a loss against Southern Indiana (0-2). 

Southern Illinois has scored 16 total goals this season for an average of 2.67 goals per game. They are allowing just 0.83 goals per game. 

Dana Nadda and Dory Latenser lead SIU with seven points on three goals and assists apiece. They are followed by Nao Katamato with six points (2g-2a).

Goalkeeper Reagan Miller has a 3-1 record with three shutouts in four starts this season.

Southern Illinois is led by third-year head coach Graeme Orr.
