ST. CHARLES, Mo. -Â Lindenwood Athletics is proud to welcome seven new members into the Lindenwood Athletics Hall of Fame for the class of 2026. Our Hall of Fame ceremony will be held on Saturday, January 24th at 7:00 p.m. inside the beautiful Scheidegger Center on the campus of Lindenwood University and is free admission to the public.

Jason Coomer. "Being inducted into the Hall of Fame is the ultimate honor and a testament to all the hard work and dedication these worthy recipients displayed during their careers both academically and athletically. Â We couldn't be more excited to welcome them back to campus."

Ron Young
Head coach Ron Young coached at Lindenwood University for 18 seasons for both the men's and women's volleyball programs. In his 18 season, Young won a total of 705 matches between the two programs including 363 as the women's head coach.
At the NAIA level, Young led Lindenwood to become a national brand winning the Heart of America Athletic Conference seven times on the women's side including advancing to the NAIA National Championships three of out the last four years in the NAIA era. During the 2007 season, Lindenwood women's volleyball set the program single season win total with 40 on their way to the NAIA Quarterfinals. The Lady Lions were undefeated in conference play for the 2007, 2008, and 2009 seasons and set a school record with 33 straight conference victories.
On the men's side, Young compiled a career record of 342-112. He took the Lions to 10 NAIA National Invitational Tournaments. The 2009 Lindenwood Lions (37-3) took home the NAIA National Championship defeating California Baptist in a 3-0 sweep. Young and the Lions also reached the championship match in 2002, 2005, and 2006, and made semifinal appearances in five other seasons.
In the team's final six seasons at the NAIA level, Lindenwood averaged over 28 wins a season and had a winning percentage just under .800. Young won five conference Coach of the Year honors on the men's side and four conference Coach of the Year awards on the women's side. He was once the men's National Coach of the Year and twice earned women's Regional Coach of the Year honors.
Rebecca Bernet
Rebecca Bernet finished her career playing 74 games for the Lindenwood Lions women's ACHA Hockey team posting a career record of 55-6-1 in net. During her career, Bernet allowed just 1.06 goals per game while posting a .942 save percentage and recorded 39 shutouts over her three years. Her 18 shutouts in her final season set a school ACHA record.
In 2010, Bernet helped the Lions to a third consecutive championship win recording a shutout victory. During her final season, she was named to the First Team All-Tournament team while winning the Zoe Harris National MVP award and being named an All-American. She was the first goalie to ever win the National MVP award until 2023.
During her junior season at Lindenwood, she led the Lions to the 2009 ACHA National Championship with a 2-1 victory over Robert Morris College (Ill.). Bernet was a First Team ACHA All-American and was named to the ACHA National Championship Second Team All-Tournament Team. In the National Championship game, Bernet recorded 26 saves. In 21 games that season, Bernet posted a 16-2-1 record while posting a .944 save percentage.
Bernet was also a member of the 2008 ACHA National Championship team tallying 24 saves in their win over Robert Morris. During her junior season she was a honorable mention All-American while posting a 26-3-0 record as a starter.
Yente Van Doren
Yente Van Doren played four years on the Lindenwood men's golf team and was one of Lindenwood's all-time best golfers. He played in 50 tournaments throughout his time in the gold and black winning four tournaments.
During the back-to-back season (2017-2019), Van Doren was a Division II All-American. In his final season for the Lions, he was named the MIAA Golfer of the Year and a PING All-Region honoree. He finished his final season with an average round score of 71.45 ranking 18th in all of Division II. Van Doren also had four eagles and 133 birdies which ranked 69th in the NCAA.
While attending Lindenwood, Van Doren was a two-time PING All-American, a Division II PING All-Region selection, set the program record in single season birdies (133) and average round score (71.45). He was also named the 2016 MIAA Freshman of the Year posting an average score of 74.6 strokes leading the Lions. He earned his first first place finish at the Washburn Invitational.
Ariel Jackson
Ariel Jackson brought home the first national title for the Lindenwood women's track and field program at the NCAA level during the 2018 Indoor NCAA Division II National Championship in the 200 meter run with a time of 23.70. She helped Lindenwood place 17th overall marking the highest finish for the women's team at the indoor nationals.
During the 2018 indoor season, Jackson also finished ninth in the 60 meter dash with a prelim time of 7.51. At the MIAA Championships that same season, she also finished in second in the 60 meter. While racing during the 2018 MIAA Indoor Championships, Jackson took home the gold in the 200 meter race. She won six individual races during that indoor season.
In her final season at Lindenwood, Jackson finished second in the 200 meter run at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships with a time of 23.41. She also claimed fourth in the 100 meter final finishing with a time of 11.45. Jackson set a new outdoor program record in the 200 meter run at the 2019 MIAA Championships with a time of 23.16.
Morgan Craft
Morgan Craft was one of the most accomplished female shooters in Lindenwood Shotgun Sports history, ultimately landing on the USA Olympic team finishing in fifth place at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janerio, Brazil. She was named the 2015 USA Shooting Female of the Year during her final season at Lindenwood.
Craft would go on to become a USA Shooting Women's Skeet National Champion while also winning a silver medal at the 2015 World Cup and a gold medal at the 2015 World Championships. She would go on to be a three time USA World Championship member while winning three ACUI Team National Championships.
2006 Men's Track and Field Team
The 2006 men's track and field team had a remarkable season earning first at the NAIA Indoor National Championships and first at the HAAC Indoor Championships. Olympian Mike Rodgers captured gold in the 60 meter and 200 meter that season.
Haddow Weatherborne secured Lindenwood's team points in the 400 meter and the 200 meter. Distance runner Aron Rono claimed first in the one mile while also putting points on the board in the 3000 meter, finishing as the runner-up in that event.
In the field events, Olympian Donald Thomas earned second place in the high jump while James Jenkins also placed in the top eight. Anthony Saenz, Rascive Grant and Stuart McIntosh also earned Lindenwood points to help them keep it close with Virginia Intermont College. Kelly Jackson earned first in the shot put during the Championship.
In the final event, James Jenkins and Carlos Mattis earned first and third in the triple jump leading the way for a title run for Lindenwood.
2012-13Â Division I Roller Hockey Team
The 2012-13 DI Roller Hockey Team brought back home the National Collegiate Roller Hockey Association Championship with a 6-2 win over Michigan State, marking the program's ninth National Championship at the time. During the regular season, the Lions went undefeated with an 18-0-2 record capturing the Great Plains Regional Championship.
In Fort Myers, Fla., the Lions defeated Eastern Michigan, California-Santa Barbara and UNLV in pool play before taking on the Sun Devils of Arizona State. In their first single elimination game, the Lions defeated ASU in a close 6-5 match. The Lions would continue their path to a Championship with wins over Long Beach State, UNLV and finally in the Championship match vs. Michigan State.
Brennan Luscombe, Josh Hackman, Korey Klable, Daniel Inouye. Alex Carroll and Robert Berman all scored in the Championship game while goaltender Kevin Dwyer made 24 saves on their way to victory. Casey Escarcega finished the tournament as the Lions' top scorer and points leader with 18 goals and nine assists for 27 points. The Lions were coached by Ron Beilsten.
