For the third time this season, Aleshia Jones of the Lindenwood women's basketball team has been named Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week as announced on Tuesday.

Jones averaged 21 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game last week. The Leavenworth, Kan, native dropped 23 points against SEMO with 11 of those coming in the fourth quarter to help seal the win. She also grabbed seven rebounds against The Redhawks.

The graduate guard led the Lions with 19 points against UT Martin and also had two rebounds and three steals. For the week, Jones shot 57 percent from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc. Jones paces the Black and Gold in scoring, averaging 14 points per game.

Jones and the rest of the Lions will be back in action on Thursday, hosting Tennessee Tech on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. inside Hyland Arena.
