The Lindenwood women's basketball team (15-6, 7-3 OVC) heads to Evansville, Ind. for a pivotal Ohio Valley Conference matchup with Southern Indiana (14-5, 8-2 OVC) on Thursday. Tip-off from Liberty Arena is set for 5:00 p.m.

The Lions are coming off a dominant 91-58 win over Tennessee State where Lindenwood outscored the Tigers by 19 points in the second half to pick up its 12th double-digit victory of the season. The Lions shot lights out in the win, knocking down 51 percent from the field and making 85 percent of their free throw attempts. Lindenwood also drilled a season-high 14 three-pointers and shot 50 percent from deep overall.

Brooke Coffey led the way with 24 points, her third 20-point game of the season so far. The St. Charles, Mo native shot 9-of-14 from the field, grabbed six rebounds, and made a team-high four threes. For her efforts during the week, Coffey was tabbed OVC Player of the Week after averaging 20 points, and nine rebounds per game, while shooting 59 percent from the field. She was joined by
Aleshia Jones,
Ellie Brueggemann, and
Valerie Norwood who all finished in double figures in a balanced offensive attack.

Jones finished the game with 22 points, 16 of which came in the second half. Jones had an outstanding pair of games this past week, averaging 27 points, seven rebounds, and two steals per contest. As a result, she was named the OVC Player and Newcomer of the Week. The graduate guard has had 20 or more points in three of the last four games and leads the team with 15.2 per game.

Brueggemann also hit four three-pointers against the Tigers and finished with 16 points and six assists. The Owasso, Okla. has had at least six dimes in back-to-back games, and she leads the team with 3.5 assists per night. Overall, the Lions finished with 20 assists for the fifth time this season and are averaging 16.2 per game, tops in the OVC.

The junior guard leads the OVC with 54 makes from beyond the arc and is shooting 44.6 percent from deep, which ranks 12th in the nation. The Lions are shooting 38.6 percent from three-point range, the sixth best mark in Division I. Overall, the Lions are making 46.8 percent of their shots from the field, tops in the OVC and 20th best in the country.

Following this game. Lindenwood will head to Morehead State to battle the Eagles on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 12:00 p.m. CT.
