AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – In their first road game of the 2026-27 season, the Lindenwood men's hockey team (2-3-0) suffered a 5-2 defeat at Air Force (2-1-0, 0-0-0 AHA) on Thursday night.
The Lions failed to take advantage of an early power play opportunity before the Falcons surged into the lead midway through the first period with a pair of goals in quick succession by Harper Searless at the 9:06 mark and Nolan Cunningham on a power play 90 seconds later.
After coming up empty with the man advantage for the second time in the frame, Lindenwood would find their first goal while on the penalty kill, with Noah Dizver scoring a breakaway shorthanded goal to cut the deficit in half heading into the first intermission.
The score remained 2-1 until the 13:54 mark of the second period, when Air Force's Christian Kim scored on a one-timer from the slot to push the Falcons lead back to a pair. Lindenwood would go on the penalty kill shortly after and allow their second power play goal of the night to fall behind 4-1.
With under four minutes remaining in the period,
Brady McIsaac would surge into the offensive zone following an Air Force turnover near the red line and drop the puck off to a trailing
Adam Raesler, who was able to cut into the deficit with a wrister from the right faceoff circle.
However, the Lions were unable to close the gap any further, and still trailing by two with under a minute remaining, surrendered a fifth goal to Air Force following a poorly timed turnover in the neutral zone while goalkeeper
Liam Beerman was evacuating the ice to make way for an extra skater.
