The Ohio Valley Conference announced its latest Men's Soccer Players of the Week on Tuesday morning, with Junior defender Milton Kapaya earning OVC Defender of the Week honors for the first time this season. Kapaya becomes the third different Lindenwood defender to earn the weekly honor, while the Lions have claimed the award four times this season, the most of any team in the OVC.
In the 2-1 victory over Eastern Illinois last week, Kapaya recorded his first assist of the season on Thato Lekgetho's opening goal of the match in the 21st minute. The native of France then anchored the Lindenwood defense, which didn't allow a shot on goal in the second half to help the Lions secure their fourth conference win of the season and move into the top two of the OVC standings.
Kapaya and the rest of the Lions will return to action on Thursday night when they travel to Houston, Texas, to face the Houston Christian Huskies for the second time this season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT, with the match streaming live on ESPN+.
