MARTIN, Tenn. – The Lindenwood women's soccer team (5-5-2, 1-1-0 OVC) suffered a tough 1-0 road defeat at UT Martin on Sunday evening.
Following a scoreless first half, Martin's Peyton Cook scored the game winner in the 50th minute with a sinking shot from outside the box that slipped through the mitts of Lindenwood goalkeeper
Caroline Ritter and into the back of the net.
The Lions were unable to find an equalizer with just one shot on goal through the remaining 40 minutes as they came away empty handed in a regular season OVC road match for the first time since the 2024 season.
Lindenwood allowed 15 total shots in the match – their second most given up in a match this season – while recording only eight shots of their own. The Skyhawks were able to put seven shots on target while the Lions tested the UTM keeper with just two attempts on goal.
Kaylee Conoyer led Lindenwood with three total shots while
Mackenzie Compton registered two attempts with one shot on goal.
Kylie Peel was responsible for the Lions's second shot on goal in her first appearance of the 2026 campaign.
The Lions were also outdone on set pieces, with the Skyhawks earning eight corner kicks compared to five for LU and drawing 10 fouls on Lindenwood while committing just three of their own.
Caroline Ritter finished the match with five saves, which was her second most in a match this season.
