The Lindenwood women's basketball team (16-7, 8-4 OVC) returns home for a matchup with SIUE (10-12, 3-9 OVC) on Tuesday, beginning at 5:00 p.m. inside Hyland Arena.

The Lions are looking to bounce back after a tough loss to Morehead State by a score of 69-63 last Saturday. Much like the game against Southern Indiana, this one featured 11 lead changes, but the Eagles closed the game on a 9-0 run to secure the win. This was only the second time this season in which the Black and Gold led at halftime and came out on the losing end.

Lindenwood had three players in double figures led by
Aleshia Jones with 17 points. The Leavenworth, Kan. native stuffed the stat sheet adding six rebounds, four assists and four steals. The graduate guard has now recorded 10 or more points in eight straight games and averages a team-leading 15.3 per game.

Brooke Coffey notched her seventh double double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while shooting 7-of-14 from the field and 2-of-5 from three-point range. The junior guard has been solid all year long on the glass, pulling down an average of 8.0 per game, ranking fourth in the OVC.

Coffey and
Gracie Kelsey were a big reason why the Lions finished with a plus-12 rebounding margin. Kelsey pulled down 10 boards on the day, tying her career-high from last season. The Agency, Mo. native is second on the team in rebounding behind Coffey, averaging 4.7 per game.

Ellie Brueggemann was the other Lions in double figures, finishing the game with 16 points, including four threes. She has now made at least four shots from beyond the arc seven times this season, doing it in three-straight games and four of the last five. On the season, Brueggemann is shooting 44.8 percent from deep, best in the OVC and top 15 nationally.

Lindenwood will be looking to sweep the season series with SIUE as the Lions defeated the Cougars 84-65 on January 6. Coffey had a stellar night, finishing with a career-high 29 points on 12-of-15 shooting on her way to winning OVC Player of the Week. The Lions shot over 50 percent from the field in the win, something they have done eight different times this season.

Following this game, the Lions will travel to Little Rock and look for the season sweep there as well The Black and Gold held the Trojans to just 43 points on the way to a 28-point win.
