After three successful seasons as the head coach of the Lindenwood women's basketball program, Amy Eagan will be stepping down from her position to accept the head coaching responsibilities at the University of New Mexico.
"We are grateful for everything Coach Eagan has brought to this program," said VP for Intercollegiate Athletics
Jason Coomer. "Under her leadership, Lindenwood women's basketball has transformed into a consistent conference championship contender. As she moves forward to pursue a new opportunity, we wish her nothing but the best."
During her Lindenwood tenure, the Lions have been a consistent contender, playing in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Championship game in each of the past two seasons, while compiling a record of 48-19 in that span. This past season, Lindenwood claimed a share of the regular season conference crown for the first time in program history.
Under Eagan's guidance, the Black and Gold produced six All-Conference players, including a pair of first teamers. Eagan was selected as the 2024-25 Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year in 2024-25 after guiding Lindenwood to the third-best win improvement in all of Division I.
"Lindenwood is fully committed to providing the resources necessary to keep this program competing at the highest level, with the expectation of winning championships and hanging banners," continued Coomer. "We will begin an immediate national search for our next head coach. The bar has been set, and the expectation is simple: Keep this program moving forward with dedicated student athletes winning both in the classroom and on the court.
A national search for the next Lindenwood University head women's basketball coach will commence immediately.
