ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The Lindenwood Softball team (26-22, 15-10 OVC) defeated Morehead State in game one of their series on Friday with a 4-1 win behind Tori Hatton and Jolie McMinn's two RBI in the first and fifth innings to lead the Lions to their 26th win of the season and 15th win in the Ohio Valley Conference.

After Morehead State grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first, Lindenwood immeditaely responded in the bottom of the first and scored two runs behind an RBI double from Hatton and a McMinn RBI single to right field that brought in Hatton to give LU a 2-1 lead after one inning of play. Ava Risum shut down the MSU offense for the rest of the game allowing just four hits over the last six innings and struck out three batters while throwing her first career complete game and collecting her second win of the 2026 campaign.

The Lions added some insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth when Madisen Noll led off the inning with a walk and came around to score on Hatton's second RBI of the game with a groundout to shortstop, and McMinn had her second RBI the following at bat to put Lindenwood up 4-1 behind a sacrifice fly to centerfield that brought home Anna Sanders, who followed Noll's walk with a single to left field.

Sanders and McMinn both had two hits in the game one victory over the Eagles, and the Lions finished the contest with six hits as Hatton and Kylee Crowder each recorded a hit to lead LU offensively. Game two was delayed in the top of the second inning due to a bee swarm, and the game will be resumed tomorrow morning at 10:30 AM with game three to follow approxiametly 30 minutes after.
