On Tuesday morning, Women's Hockey Head Coach
Max Gavin has announced the addition of
Trey Flesch to the 2026-27 Lindenwood Women's Hockey Staff. Flesch, a native of Breezy Point, Minnesota comes from Mercyhurst University where he helped the Lakers cap another trip to the AHA Tournament Final for the fifth consecutive year in 2025-26.
"We are thrilled to welcome back one of our own. Trey is an elite recruiter with a proven track record of developing players at every level." said Gavin. "He brings a championship mindset and a passion for mentoring student-athletes. He has a deep connection to our program and we are very fortunate to welcome him back."
Before being an assistant at Mercyhust, Flesch spent the previous four seasons as an assistant coach at Maine from 2018-2022. Despite having a shortened 2020-21 schedule, the Black Bears earned 52 wins with Flesch on the bench. The 52 wins included three consecutive visits to the Hockey East Semi Finals and four visits to it in five years. While with Maine, he also worked with the USA Hockey National Camps mostly focusing on goaltending development.
Trey returns to Lindenwood for the first time since 2018 after he earned both his Master's and Bachelor's degree from Lindenwood University. Flesch graduated with a bachelor's degree in educational studies with minors in coaching and social studies in 2016 and acquired a master's in K-12 autism and spectrum disorder in 2018.
Flesch played goaltender from 2012-2016 as an ACHA player during his time at Lindenwood and led the Lions to a national championship in 2016 as a Senior. He then started his collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant in 2016 for the Lindenwood ACHA Men's Team after two consecutive runs to the frozen four, including an ACHA National Title and two conference championships.
