Kicking Off
The Lindenwood women's soccer team takes on Saint Louis in the Gateway City this weekend for their first road test of the new season. Kickoff from Hermann Stadium is set for 1:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.

Lions Storylines

• Lindenwood is in their fifth season at the Division-I level, possessing an overall record of 31-31-16 since making the jump in 2022. The Lions have posted 10 or more wins in back-to-back years.
• LU recorded a 10-5-5 record last season, finishing third in the OVC before returning to the conference tournament final for the second consecutive year.
• Lindenwood returned a total of nine starters off last year's team, bringing back 180 of 220 (81.8%) starts from the 2025 season.
• The Lions retained all five All-OVC selections, including Mackenzie Compton, Tasneem Dizdarevic, Rachel Jackson, Allison Schrumpf, and Alysse Lamb.
• Lindenwood posted a record of 5-1-3 away from home last season.
• Dave Musso is in his ninth season as head coach of the Lindenwood women's soccer program in 2026. He led LU to an OVC Tournament title in 2024 and eclipsed 50 wins with the Lions last season and has a total of over 200 career victories. 

Last Time Out
Lindenwood secured a 1-0 win over Bellarmine in their season opener on Thursday night, with Mackenzie Compton converting for the game winning goal in the 44th minute. The Lions were in control for most of the evening, recording 21 total shots while allowing just four attempts to the Knights.

Preseason Favorites
LU were selected as heavy preseason favorites in the Ohio Valley Conference's preseason poll, receiving nine out of 16 potential first-place votes, while Caroline Ritter and Anna Johnson were tabbed as the Lions' Players to Watch. 

New Additions
Lindenwood bolstered their experience laded roster with a group of five newcomers, including three transfers and a pair of freshmen. The transfer class features Sam Steele, who spent the previous three seasons at Idaho State, and two Creighton transfers in Addie Dea and Addie Wilkie. Joining the squad as first year players are Peyton Johnson and Lauren Hale.

About Saint Louis

• The Billikens dropped their season opener against Alabama on Wednesday by a score of 2-1, with the Crimson Tide pulling ahead late on a penalty kick in the game's 88th minute.
• SLU posted a record of 14-4-2 in 2025, finishing second in the Atlantic 10 with a league record of 8-1-1.
• Saint Louis returned eight starters off last year's squad, including points leader Adee Broesder (5g-3a) and A-10 co-Rookie of the Year Caroline Chier (1g-6a).
• They finished within the top 20 nationally in five categories, including corner kicks per game (7.80), shots on goal per game (8.15), winning percentage (.750), shots per game (17.10), and shutout percentage (.550).
• The Billikens are 86-12-13 at Hermann Stadium dating back to the 2015 season, outscoring their opponents 249-47 with 70 shutouts over that stretch.

Series History
Sunday will be the first regular season meeting between Lindenwood and Saint Louis on the pitch.
