The Lindenwood Men's Soccer team picked up their first road win of the 2026 season last Friday night with a 2-0 win over Big East opponent Butler behind two second half goals coming off the feet of Philip Viberg Rasmussen and Luca Bartoni. The Lions were able to hold the Bulldogs to six shots in the contest, which marked the fewest shots allowed by Lindenwood's defense on the road this season. Quinn Closson also added his second cleansheet of the season making three total saves, while Luke Neely made several big defensive plays against Butler to help the Lions pick up their third shutout through five games played in 2026.

• The 2-0 win over Butler last week was the first time the Lions have defeated the Bulldogs in program history. 
• Quinn Closson's .43 GAA through five games played ranks fifth among all goalkeepers in the country. 
• Lindenwood appeared in the latest United Soccer Coaches North Region Poll at 10. The Lions were ranked as hgh as four in 2025, a spot in which they held for four straight weeks dating from September 9-30
• The Lions lead the conference in goals scored with 13, and have the highest goal differential at +11. The next closest team is UTRGV, with a goal differential of +6.

About Evansville

• Evansville enters the matchup with the Lions having a record of 0-4-1. The Purple Aces have went up against two ranked teams so far this season in #21 Louisville and #22 Indiana, dropping both contests by a combined score of 4-0. 
• Senior Midfielder Pablo Calvete leads Evansville offensively in 2026 with two goals scored, contributing to 50% of the Purple Ace's total goals scored on the season.
• Last season, Evansville made an appearance in the Missouri Valley Conference Championship game, where they came up just short with a 1-0 loss to Western Michigan.
