Elijah Roy of the Lindenwood football team has been named Ohio Valley Conference Rookie of the Week as announced on Monday morning.

Roy had a big day at FBS Missouri State last Saturday, posting a career high in catches with four and yards with 72. He hauled in his first touchdown in a Lindenwood uniform which came in the fourth quarter on a 32-yard strike. The Colorado native averaged 18 yards per reception against the Bears.

So far this season, Roy has caught 10 passes for 106 yards and one touchdown through three games.

Following a bye week, Roy and the rest of the Lions will head to Ypsilanti, Mich. for another matchup with an FBS opponent. Lindenwood takes on Eastern Michigan, September 26, beginning at 12:00 p.m. CT.
