The Lindenwood women's volleyball team concludes their nonconference schedule this week with a trip to Peoria for the CEFCU Invitational hosted by Bradley. The Lions open play against New Mexico State at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 18th.

Lindenwood went 2-0 at the Linda Herman Volleyball classic in Normal last weekend, defeating Purdue Fort Wayne 3-0 and Illinois State 3-1. The Lions hit .263 as a team while allowing a combined hitting percentage of just .133 to their opponents. Three Lindenwood players recorded 20 or more kills, including Susanna Beretti with 25 (3.57 KPS), Autumn Bax with 23 (3.29 KPS) and Lauren Ortwerth with 20 2,86 KPS).

Setter of the Week
Kaci Johnson was named Ohio Valley Conference Setter of the Week for the second consecutive time after racking up 96 assists over three matches for an average of 9.60 assists per set. At the Linda Herman Classic, she helped LU to a .263 team hitting percentage, handing out 31 assists (10.33 APS) against Purdue Fort Wayne and 46 helpers (11.50 APS) against Illinois State. She also got it done on the defensive end, leading the Lions with 27 digs, including 16 (4.00 DPS) against the Redbirds.

Scouting Report
  • New Mexico State:  The Aggies are 6-4 overall after going 2-1 at the Borderland Classic in Las Cruces last weekend. They have registered 525 total kills this season, which is fourth most in Division-I. Jaelynn Kohli leads the team with 106 kills (2.65 KPS) while Ashley Herman has 96 terminations on a team-best .420 hitting percentage.
  • UTRGV: The Vaqueros enter this weekend with a record of 3-5 after dropping two of three at the Red Raider Classic in Lubbock over the weekend. Ema Petkovic ranks second nationally in service aces per set (0.89) and fourth in total aces (25). She also leads the team with 94 kills (3.36 KPS).
  • Bradley: The Braves are 4-5 this season after posting a 1-2 record at the Loyola Invitational in Chicago last weekend. They are 1-1 against the OVC this season with a 3-0 win over Western Illinois and 3-1 loss to SEMO. Setter Maria Drapp ranks sixth nationally in total assists (374) and 15th in assists per set (10.69).
