The Lindenwood Women's Hockey team (3-1-0, 0-0-0 AHA) fell in the series finale at Merrimack College on Friday afternoon by a final score of 3-0. The Lions were held to a season-low 20 shots on goal, with Rhaea Flint leading the way with four shots on target.
In her Lindenwood debut, Eva Filippova was tested early and stood tall, making 19 saves in the opening period. The senior transfer from Bemidji State made five saves while the Lions were on the penalty kill to keep the Warriors off the scoreboard. Late in the opening frame, Lindenwood had a power-play opportunity of its own but couldn't find the back of the net, sending the game into the second period scoreless.
The Warriors continued to pressure the Lindenwood defense to start the second period and eventually took the lead at the 10:02 mark on a redirection in front of the net that snuck just inside the left post, giving the Lions their first deficit of the 2026-27 season. Shortly after the Merrimack goal, Lindenwood headed back to the power play with an opportunity to tie the game, but the unit generated just one shot on goal, coming off the stick of Raquel McCormack, and couldn't find the equalizer as the game entered the third period with the Warriors holding a 1-0 advantage.
Merrimack added two more goals at the 7:58 and 11:35 marks of the third period to extend its lead to 3-0. Over the final four minutes of the game, the Lions had an empty net and generated some offense with an extra skater on the ice by recording three shots on goal, but the Warriors' goaltender stopped all three attempts to hand Lindenwood its first loss of the season. Filippova finished the contest with 32 saves, while the Lindenwood defense blocked 11 shots, five of which were blocked by Ellie Muscedere.
Lindenwood will now hit the road for the third straight week as the Lions travel to Delaware to open conference play. Puck drop from Fred Rust Arena is set for 1 PMÂ CT on Saturday, October 3, followed by an 11 AMÂ CT puck drop on Sunday, October 4.
