Zak Larkin is entering his second season on the baseball coaching staff in 2020.

In his first season with the Lions, Larkin helped the Lions to a 28-25 overall record and an 18-15 mark in MIAA action.  Lindenwood hit .296 as a team which ranked second-best in the MIAA through 53 games played.  The Lions ranked third in the conference in runs (345), triples (16), and RBI (310).
 
Larkin was a key part in the success of six fielders earning All-MIAA recognition, including first-team outfielder DJ Miller.  Miller ranked fifth in the MIAA with a .372 batting average and fifth in the league with 16 doubles.  Bryce Beckmann was named to the second-team All-MIAA after ranking 46th in NCAA Division II with 23 stolen bases.  Beckmann ranked fifth in the MIAA with 16 doubles and hit .360 on the year.

Prior to Lindenwood, Larkin coached at Lewis University and was in charge of the entire offense and infield defense.  Larkin was brought in to broaden recruiting efforts and last season coached two second-team All-GLVC players.  Before his stop in Romeoville, Ill., Larkin coached for two years at Truman State University where he was responsible for recruiting efforts and the development of the infielders, hitters, and base runners.

Larkin coached three players who earned GLVC first-team honors including one athlete who was an all-region selection.  The Bulldogs added three more players to the second-team All-GLVC in his two year span.  In his two years, Truman State ranked in the top-10 all-time in school history in seven different categories and each year posted the top-5 all-time fielding percentages in program history.

Zak made an impact in the summers as well by coaching the 2016 Nevada Griffons in the MINK League.  In 2017, Larkin was the head coach of the Carroll merchants and led the team to the 2017 Pioneer League regular season championship.

Larkin played at Truman State from 2012-2015 where his was a three-time captain including his senior season when he led the team to the 2015 Midwest Regional Championship.  At the conclusion of his career, Larkin took hold as the career record holder in stolen bases, walks, runs, and at-bats.  Zak ranks in the top-10 all-time at Truman in hits, games played, hit by pitch, doubles, and assists.

Larkin graduated from Truman State in 2015 with a bachelors degree in exercise science and a minor in education and health sciences.  Larkin is finishing up his masters in organizational leadership.  Zak in engaged to his fiancee Aubrey Bailey and resides in St. Louis, Mo.
