Mary Altepeter is in her third season as a member of the coaching staff with the Lindenwood field hockey team in 2018.
Altepeter began volunteer coaching with the team during the 2016 season, when the team finished 16-3 and won the ECAC tournament for the first time. She was hired as an assistant coach in March 2017, with her main focus being goalkeeper training and development.
Altepeter played four years in goal at Sacred Heart University (Fairfield, Conn.) from 2012-2015, where she was a two-time captain. In 2013 and 2015, she was selected second-team All-MAAC, while in 2014 she was a first-team honoree. Off the field, Altepeter represented her team on the MAAC All-Academic team, as well as the NFHCA DI National Academic Squad from 2013-2015.
Altepeter graduated from Sacred Heart in May 2016 with a bachelor’s in exercise science. She earned a Master's degree in human performance.
Prior to Lindenwood, she was a volunteer coach for Sacred Heart in spring 2016. She also coaches with Aim Field Hockey, a club program in St. Louis.
Altepeter is a native of St. Louis, having graduated from Visitation Academy.
