Hunter Nichols is in his first season as a member of the Lindenwood football coaching staff. He is in charge of the team's defensive ends.
Nichols coached the last two seasons at McKendree University. He was a part of a staff that helped turned the Bearcats program around and win 13 games in 2014 and 2015, including an 8-2 campaign in 2015. Nichols coached the defensive line and helped players earn seven all-conference awards and one All-American honor. He also coached a player to GLVC Defensive Lineman of the Year honors.
While he was at McKendree, the defense broke school records for sacks per game, sacks per season, and tackles for loss per game. The unit ranked second in the nation in 2015 in team sacks.
Nichols was a student coach at the University of Southern Mississippi for one year. He assisted the defensive line coach, and strength and conditioning coach. At Southern Mississippi, he assisted in coaching three NFL defensive linemen.
