Jeff Bloom enters his second season with the Lindenwood football staff in 2020. Bloom will coach the tight ends and serve as the offensive analyst.
In 2019, Bloom helped Lindenwood to one of its best seasons in the NCAA era, as the Lions went 9-4 on the year with a perfect 7-0 mark in conference play to capture the GLVC Championship. Lindenwood earned a berth in the 2019 NCAA Division II Playoffs, while defeating No. 5 Ouachita Baptist in the first round.
Bloom helped Erik Henneman repeat as an All-America (D2Football.com) as he earned second-team recognition. Henneman was named second-team all-region (D2Football.com) and earned first-team All-GLVC accolades. While playing in one more game in his senior season, Henneman’s numbers increase in 2019. Henneman hauled in 63 passes for 699 yards and 10 touchdowns, averaging 58.2 yards per game.
Bloom guided Henneman to a GLVC Offensive Player of the Week award, after the tight end scored three touchdowns in an upset victory over No. 24 Truman State. In the final 1:16 of the game, Henneman caught two touchdown passes, including the game winner with just six second remaining.
Henneman accumulated over 100 yards receiving in two different games, and scored at least one touchdown in seven different games. The group of tight ends tallied 77 receptions for 841 yards and 12 touchdowns on the season.
Bloom comes to Lindenwood after spending the 2017 and 2018 seasons on the McKendree University staff. Bloom was the assistant defensive ends coach, helping Tobias Cook earn all-conference recognition. In 2018, Bloom continued his role as the defensive analyst, while serving as the assistant linebackers coach.
Prior to the collegiate level, Bloom spent six seasons at Peoria High School in Illinois. Bloom helped rebuild a program that did not have a winning season in the 18 years prior to his arrival. Bloom coached the outside linebackers, tight ends, and fullbacks.
Peoria set multiple records in 2016 en route to a 5A State Championship. Bloom coached one All-American, one area player of the year, two all-area performers, and nine all-conference players.
Bloom earned his business degree from Illinois Wesleyan, before earning a masters in architecture from Washington University in St. Louis.
